Reliable support for websites that need stability, not constant change
Ongoing website support is about more than updates and uptime. As platforms evolve, third-party tools change, and accessibility expectations increase, older sites require thoughtful caretaking to remain usable and responsibly maintained.
311 Media provides website caretaking and ongoing support for organizations that want stability, risk awareness, and clear boundaries — especially for sites that are not ready for a full rebuild.
While much of our hands-on experience involves WordPress, the support principles we apply are relevant across platforms.
Our approach to ongoing support
Website caretaking is intentionally scoped. We focus on keeping sites functional, monitored, and supported while being clear about what maintenance can — and cannot — accomplish.
Our approach prioritizes:
- Stability over constant change
- Risk awareness over false reassurance
- Clear boundaries over open-ended promises
This helps clients understand what is being maintained, what limitations exist, and when additional work should be considered.
What ongoing support includes
Support plans are designed to address routine maintenance and monitoring needs.
Typical support includes:
Platform updates & site stability
Regular updates to core software, themes, and plugins to reduce security risk and prevent common compatibility issues.
Backups & recovery
Scheduled backups so sites can be restored if an update, plugin, or server issue causes a problem.
Security & uptime monitoring
Basic monitoring for downtime and common security concerns related to routine maintenance.
Limited support time
Each plan includes a defined amount of time for minor fixes or content updates within the existing site structure.
Support is limited to caretaking. Structural changes, accessibility remediation, and redesign work are scoped separately.
Important notes about maintenance and accessibility
Ongoing support helps keep a site running, but it does not eliminate all risk.
- Maintenance does not guarantee ADA, WCAG, or legal compliance
- Older themes, plugins, or platforms may limit what can be safely maintained
- Accessibility improvements beyond basic caretaking require a separate scope
- When a site has reached the end of its useful life, we will clearly recommend next steps rather than continue patching indefinitely
These distinctions are important and are discussed upfront.

Getting started
The best first step is confirming whether a site is a good fit for ongoing support.
If you’re unsure whether caretaking, a focused accessibility review, or a larger change makes sense, a site review is often the right place to start.
